Therapy For women - it’s time to choose you

You show up for so many people and now, you are ready to show up for yourself. You want a space where you can be honest about who you are and learn to love and care for yourself. Making this kind of investment in yourself feels foreign. All your “ALERT” and “WARNING” signals are going off right now; but you also know ~

it’s time to choose you.

Here are a few answers to some of your questions that may help make this decision a little bit easier.

How long do therapy sessions typically last?

Individual therapy is 50 minutes.

Couples therapy is 75 minutes.

What is my financial investment?

$200 per 50 minute session.

I recognize that for some, this might feel like a really BIG investment. And you are worth that investment. For others, you may really just not have those funds on an ongoing basis. To help cover some of the costs of therapy, if you are a Black female please check out The Loveland Foundation, and if you identify as QTBIPOC you may apply to receive funding through The Mental Health Fund.

Are therapy sessions covered by my insurance?

I do not bill your insurance company. Unfortunately, I found that insurance was not sustainable. Here’s a great article to explain why? I will gladly provide a receipt or a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You may want to ask your insurance network about their “out of network” reimbursement policy. Do you accept FSA/HSA?

Yes.

Do you offer sliding scale?

No.

How long & How often will I need to come to counseling?

The length of time and frequency a person spends in therapy is different for everyone. I suggest meeting weekly or twice a month in order to allow for flow and consistency. This space is a time of self-care & deep healing for you. We will work collaboratively in your wellness journey every step of the way and will trust that knowing of completion as it arises.

Where do Counseling sessions take place?

I currently offer one-on-one virtual therapy through Simple Practice, a HIPAA compliant electronic health and wellness management platform. (HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). You will receive a reminder and a link for our session 24 hours in advance. Therapy is wherever you have access to the internet, within the state of CA.

If I’m traveling out of state, can we still meet for therapy since it’s virtual?

I am licensed to provide therapy only in the state of California. The basic rule for this states that therapy is happening wherever the client is located.

How much space will I need for movement?

Be prepared to move in the space the size of a yoga mat to begin with.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Our first therapy session will consist of us getting to know each other a little bit more. We will begin exploring your hopes, expectations and desires for and from therapy.

What does a therapy session look like?

We will typically begin a therapy session connecting with breath and/or a meditation to create a ritual while providing a resource you can practice outside of therapy. Breath work is followed by a check in, reflecting on the previous week. We will then move into processing of what is showing up for you (themes, symptoms, challenges) and this process may include any combination of verbal, written/journaling, breath work, art, somatic (body) awareness, movement, music, dance. I work intuitively consistently connecting in with your experience. Sessions end with a closing remembrance (take away) of what you plan to practice on your own until our next session.

Notice of Good faith

Under the law, health care providers are asked to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. As a client, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. To learn more about the Good Faith Estimate, click here or visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

What is your cancellation policy

My experience with Jetaun has been life changing. I was completely lost when I started working with her. She helped me to find myself again, love myself, and more than anything to value myself. I will forever be grateful for her.
